2015/07/05 New York Philharmonic Classics: Dutoit& Ax
In 1842, the United States weren’t its current size, and there actually wasn’t much developed musical taste in the 13 original states. And yet, the New York Philharmonic was founded. Now the NY Phil is still at the top, and we bet it will show its prowess in this concert of grand and virtuosic repertoire. Brahms’s symphonic Second Piano Concerto and Stravinsky’s and Ravel’s kaleidoscopic scenarios are all some of the best tests for an orchestra, and the NY Phil under Charles Dutoit is sure to make it memorable.
