Liu Le

Liu Le Liu Le is a great young zheng performer in our time. And he has been invited to serve for Zhejiang Conservatory of Music as an outstanding talent and an Academic Adviser for postgraduate students. He was graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, studying under Prof. Wang Wei, a celebrated educator. He has won the Golden Bell Award, which is the highest honor in Chinese Music World. And he is a symbolic figure who was nominated for 2012 and 2014 “CCTV Top 10 Zheng Performers” in a row. He is one of the most active young zheng performers. He has interpreted concertos with numerous orchestra in home and abroad, including: Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Rundfunk-Sifonieorchester Berlin, Warsaw and Oslo Philharmonic Orchestras, Gothenburg Symphony, Copenhagen Symphony, Aarhus Symphony, Belgium Philharmonic, China Philharmonic Orchestra, Central Opera House Symphony Orchestra in China, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and the others in Zhejiang, Wuhan, Xi’an and Sichuan. He has worked with many famous Chinese and foreign conductors, such as Zhang Guoyong, Wang Yongji, Ye Chong, Xu Zhijun, Peng Jiapeng, Yang Yang, Zhang Yi, Xia Xiaotang, Lin Daye, Peter Rundel, Pierre-Andre Valade, Julian Kuerti, Daniel Gazon, Francois-Xavier Roth, Terje Mikkelsen, Ilan Volkov, Jukka Isakkila. He has held more than 200 recitals and lectures in over 70 cities, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco, Oslo, and Copenhagen. And he has participated many music festivals, such as ISCM, ULTRASHCALL, ULTIMA, WARSAW AUTUMN, and Shanghai Spring. He has premièred symphonic concertos Opening, Cheng, The Love Between Water and Sky, and Green Tea Earthquake and Constantly Enlightenment, and solo works Zui Lian Fu and Sacrifice. Meanwhile, he is both good at performing and composing. His main works includes solo works Dreams in Sleeves, Pretty Silhouette, Tonight, Dong Ge, Cui Yu, Light and Shadow like a Song, the zheng trio Rotating, the zheng concerto Thou (was selected into works funded by 2017 National Art Fund); the zheng and piano Four Dreams along the Strings Suite (Yu Zhou Meng Wan, Ying Shui Xin Lian, Shan Gao Shui Chang and Qiu Yue Yin), the zheng and chamber ensemble The Love to the Spring Breeze and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. As a professional teacher, his students has won many major competitions such as 5th Wenhua Prize Youth Zheng Group held by the Ministry of Culture and Dun Huang Cup National Zheng Competition.
